I woke up this morning and was very surprised to see the pagerank (PR) of Artpromotivate rise from 0 to 4! I was patiently awaiting the first assigning of page rank for ArtPro Motivate since we first went live December, 2011, but was only expecting a 1 or 2 PR increase… never FOUR!
We owe it to our loyal readers, subscribers, and those who have been featured in the Artist Spotlite.
You may be wondering why I say “we” instead of “I” at times. It is because I consider every single one of you to be a part of this ambitious project.
Without you, Artpromotivate would not be where it is today with 140 subscribers, 250+ daily unique visitors, and growing! We are now a PR4 artist website!
I would like to express a heartfelt thank-you to every single one of you!
What is Google Pagerank (PR) and why does it matter?
Some may be wondering, “What is pagerank and why does it matter?”, so I will answer that question now.
Google PR is the ranking system which Google uses to rate the importance and popularity of a website. The rank goes from zero to ten, 10 being the most important. The main factor used in ranking is incoming links, and how relevant they are to the content. Every time someone shares one of our posts by means of Facebook, Google+, Twitter, or elsewhere, they are contributing to our website ranking.
Nowadays, pagerank is not as important as it once was. The focus of a website’s popularity is becoming more and more centered on social networking and interaction on websites.
What really matters is good relevant and helpful content, and this is what we have been striving to achieve.
What does this PR increase mean for artists who are spotlighted at Artpromotivate?
Since Artpromotivate is increasing in popularity at an incredible rate, any artists featured here will receive continued exposure for their art. Each individual artist interview is added to the front page of Artpromotivate under the Artist Spotlite section in the sidebar. As the site grows, we may create an individual contents page strictly devoted to featured artists.
How did we achieve this pagerank?
- Posting often!
The single most important reason why this art blog has increased in pagerank (PR) so fast is posting frequency. We post here regularly, sometimes two articles daily!
- Posting popular and helpful sought-after topics.
This continues to be our sole purpose. We have been devoting most of the articles so far to artist spotlites, artist networking sources, and tutorials, though we do plan on expanding. (hint: guest posting)
- YOU!
It is because of the sharing of our articles by means of Facebbook, Twitter, Linkedin, Google+, and on artist blogs and websites, that our PR has increased to 4!
Again, I would like to thank all of you from the bottom of my heart for your support.
It is you, my great artist friends and loyal readers that make writing at APM a very worthwhile and rewarding experience!
congrats! you deserve it :) its a great website and there has been a lot of work put into it!
