Getting started with Webydo is very easy. This post is meant as a general guide to help you on your way to signing up and begin designing websites of your own.

  1. Visit Webydo

    Click the light blue Create your Site Now button. Enter your name, email and a password, accept the terms and conditions, then hit Start Now.

    Webydo offers 3 options to begin building your website - design (inspiration), layout or blank.

  3. Design

    Hover your cursor over Design and hit View Designs. You will find several preset designs (templates). There are a good collection of design suggestions according to the proposed website. These are meant as a starting point and can be completely edited.

  4. Layout

    With layout, you can begin with a basic site structure, and insert elements into the website. At the moment, there are 4 to choose from – corporate, graphic, portfolio and wide box.

  5. Blank

    Choose this to load the CMS and begin creating pages of your website from scratch.

    For this overview, I am using the blank option, to familiarize you with some of the features.

  6. General overview

    When first loading up the Webydo website editor, you are presented with a general overview of some of the features and can see how easy it is to begin building a website.

  7. Main Menu

    At the top, Webydo has a menu, which includes Insert, Site presets, Pages, Edit, View and Dashboard. To the right are 3 different modes, which are for designing the website, content and previewing. To the right are several important links you may want to check out – Participate, Help, Undo and Redo, Save and Publish.

  8. Insert

    Choosing insert, you can insert several elements into your webpage, including shape, text, image, flash, video, gallery, form, widget and menu. Easily drag and drop these onto your canvas area. Move them anywhere and change the size as needed. Various options for the element appears at the top when it is selected. Right clicking also brings up several handy options – cut, copy, paste, duplicate, arrange, etc.

  9. Site presets

    With site presets, you can change the size and position, page properties and color style, and have it universal throughout your whole website.

  10. Pages

    Here you can set certain things regarding the pages and navigation. This is also the place to set your page settings, duplicate pages, and tinker with SEO.

  11. Edit

    Edit gives options for cut, copy, paste, duplicate, delete and more.

  12. View

    This submenu has several options for changing view settings, including layers window, rulers, guides and grid overlay.

  13. Dashboard

    Choosing dashboard will bring you back to your main Webydo dashboard where you may begin a new website, edit a site, update your plan, add a new CMS user and more.

  14. Widgets

    The widgets menu is where website elements and plugin capabilities can be added. Add any widget to your site design via iframe or html, such as menus, sliders, calendars, etc. This is also the place to add an online store to your website.

This is just a brief introduction to some of the basic features of the Webydo design studio.
