I began drawing regularly only two years ago after being diagnosed as an Epileptic. Where do Artists Present Artworks Online?

Where do artists tend to present their artworks for online viewers? The answer to this question depends on who you ask. With the myriad of options available, artists have used a variety of means to promote artworks online. These include an official online portfolio (artist website), Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, Linkedin, Google+, blogging, newsletters, Ebay, and many free artist profile services (ie. Behance, Fine Art America, Deviantart, etc.). In our artist spotlight questionnaire, I have been asking the question “Where do you promote your art online?” If you are the researching type, I would recommend going back through <a title="these spotlights" href="http://www.artpromotivate.com/search/label/Artist%20Spotlight" rel="nofollow">these spotlights</a>. Find artists who match your own style, mediums, etc. Make a list of places where they showcase artworks, and note commonalities. I paint reality because my mind seems to at time wonder all over the place and painting slows down my breathing when I get into the zone. I paint where I holiday… live, have lived (landscapes) and what I love. Flowers and trees and child hood memory's come into play too.

Are There too Many Visual Artists Online?

If you are involved in the online art community and posting your art at Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, Etsy, Fine Art America, Behance, Saatchi Online, and other sites – it may be easy to think there are too many artists, and way too much competition. There are a multitude of Facebook art groups with thousands of members. Our own group <a title="Artpromotivate – Promote Your Art" href="https://www.facebook.com/groups/138531592952146/" rel="nofollow">Artpromotivate – Promote Your Art</a> currently has over 7300 members. Our <a title="Twitter" href="https://twitter.com/artpromotivate" rel="nofollow">Twitter</a> following currently is over 11000 and <a title="Facebook page" href="https://www.facebook.com/artpromotivate" rel="nofollow">Facebook page</a> has about 5000 likes. Deviantart, a site geared toward creative types, has a membership of 25 million people. Countless other portfolio sites exist and new ones are appearing very often. Artists seem to be everywhere online!     What do you think? Do you think there is too much competition for artists online? If so, how can individual artists stand out and become noticed? Or is this the real problem: There are not enough art collectors to sustain such massive numbers of artists.

The move to this part of the world inspired me to try and paint everyday and recreate the ever-changing beautiful landscape. I am inspired by many things but mostly woodlands, colour and shadows. Over the last ten years I have exhibited successfully throughout Cornwall as well as nationwide in group and solo shows. Painting initially with <a title="watercolour" href="http://www.artpromotivate.com/2013/10/watercolor-paintings-landscapes.html">watercolour</a> onto stretched, primed canvas is an unconventional technique that allows for a greater freedom with image size as well as allowing washes to be layered and disturbed, should I wish. I overlay this background with acrylic ink taking advantage of its fluidity, intensity, vibrancy and transparent qualities.

Shortly after grad school I paid off my student loans and saved up some "travel money." Knowing I wanted to get away for about a year and just do some painting I spun the globe and landed my finger on Taiwan.
