Believe Teresa Cash

I am a self taught mixed media artist and my passion is to create art about "Simple Truths/Simple Reminders".  Always mindful of ways to encourage myself and others to be the best that we can be.  Sometimes all it takes is a moment to ponder a simple truth or simple reminder to help make a shift in our thought.

Tell us about your first experience creating.

February 2011, I had just turned 58 years old when I started my creative journey.  I had no idea which direction to go but I was committed to put one foot in front of the other and keep moving.  Knowing that eventually I would find my way.  It was in August 2011 I sat down at my desk and gave myself 15 minutes a I drew a face of a woman.  At that time a light went off and I was on my way.

What music do you like to have playing in the background while creating art?

I actually like it being quiet because most of my art comes with a message I like to listen with.

If you have a job besides being an artist, can you tell us about it?

I am an Office Manager for a family owned business

What impression would you like to give viewers of your art?

I want my art to be about "Simple Truths/Simple Reminders".  Always mindful of ways to encourage people to be the best they can be.  Which in essence will bring a smile to their face.

Love yourself

Do you have a particular routine when creating art?

I don’t have routine. I sometimes have a hard start beginning so my mantra has become “there is no mistakes in art”

What inspires you?

Life’s lessons.  I believe we all experience the same challenges in life, the details may be different but the lessons are the same.

Can you recommend another artist and tell us a little about them?

Donna Downey.  She is by far an inspiration for me.  She is genuine in all that she does, even in her mistakes.  Her energy is contagious.

Tell us something interesting in your life

I had always wanted to dance on stage.  After watching my daughter for many years in her dance classes/recitals I decided to ask the instructor if I could take a class.  I think she was a little surprised by my request, she said yes.  I was sooooo excited.  So here I was 40 years old in a class of 16 13 years old.  I even participated in the recital.  Fun, fun, fun!  Now I can say… when I got the chance to sit out or dance.  I danced!

If you could live your life over again, would there be anything you would do differently?

I have learned many lessons from my life experiences that have made me who I am today.  The only thing I would have differently is to let my creative spirit out to play a lot sooner.

Today I will sing

What are your future plans?

teresa cashI recently published my first website and I want to sell my art.  I will continue to create inspirational art because I have messages I want to share and “Simple Truth/Simple Reminders”.

Would you share some advice for emerging artists?

Just begin!

  1. Thank You very much Graham for featuring me. This is such a heartfelt surprise. It was just the boost I needed at a time that I was feeling a little deflated.
