Run Rise over the Curb – Chris Dale

I have come back to painting after many years away. This resulted out of responsibility for another and in refection there was a need in me to grow up. Through age I am better able to work through my work to completion. In my first painting there was the energy that was loved but a fear that it would be lost if more paint was applied. The final advantage is do not need to tray to be smart.

Please tell us about your first experience creating.

The first time was a lino cut I made from tracing an Inuit bird drawing. The result was strong and people liked it. Not my most originally work but fulfilled the instruction of the teacher.

What are you trying to convey to viewers through your art?

It is a impression of a moment and in that moment there is a reflection of what is going on around us at that moment.

Tell us about your creative process, from the beginning of a typical piece to its completion:

Sometimes I work from a single image that is found or a combination of them that is interest to me. Other times there are no references or starting point. Simple work from a undefined mental image. I have no set rule unless the rule is part of the work.

What things inspire you to create art?

The need to express what is seem and felt in my life.
