Wix Wix is a very easy and simple website solution for many artists. There are literally hundreds of templates to choose from, each of which can be fully customized. Wix can be used to create art blogs, forums, online shops, portfolio websites, and much more! It is completely free to join and begin creating a site right away. To give your website a professional presence, I do highly recommend getting a custom domain from Godaddy and upgrading to a premium package. The prices for premium packages are very reasonable, and carry perks such as increased space, unlimited bandwidth, free domain, and much more!

Blurb - Create your Own Art Book

Blurb is an online application for creating your own books. There are many possibilities here – photo books, art catalogues, wedding albums, portfolios, cookbooks, children’s books, etc.

Create your books with the downloadable Booksmart software, and upload them. All books can be sold through the Blurb marketplace for profit!

Hosting and Domains for Art Websites

Having a self-hosted website is the BEST option for promoting art online, and its not as expensive as one might think. Hostgator or Bluehost are the largest and best hosting sites.

Godaddy is a great place to get a cheap domain for your new website.

As for having a custom domain, it is one of the most important first steps to establishing an online presence. With a custom domain, you will be branding yourself – plus its yours forever. Why promote a free site when you can promote your own URL all across the web?
