For the past few months, I have talked about and reviewed many online portfolio sites and online stores for artists.
I have had a chance to see what works and what doesn’t for the selling of art online. All of this research has went into this secret project that I am very excited to finally reveal to you – the Artpromotivate Showcase.
Why am I so excited about this project?
For the past while I have been explaining to you ways of promoting and selling your art online, and I have been helping you with that through artist spotlights and promotional advice. The Artpromotivate Showcase (APMS) brings this site into a whole NEW phase - actually giving you an online medium to sell art.
The APM Showcase is many things - an online store, a blogging platform and an artist website.
I am very proud to say that becoming a member of Artpromotivate Showcase is completely free. At first, I planned on hosting a portfolio site service with a membership fee, but decided that the free to join approach will benefit APMS artists even more.
Read all about that below.
I don’t believe in keeping anything from you, so here I will reveal my plans for APM Showcase, and why it will be advantageous for you to become a member at this introductory stage.
Sell Your Art With Us
The APM Showcase is structured like a webstore with categorized listings.
Buyers can easily browse artists according to interest, and contact them, or purchase right away.
It includes an integrated shopping cart, and checkout process. Payments are made through Paypal, which includes credit card transactions as well.
What can I sell at APM Showcase?
The Artpromotivate Showcase mainly serves artists and artisans. We have categorized listings for paintings, sculpture, digital art, ACEO, painting a day, ebooks, tutorials, handmade items, photography, vintage items, and more.
Our slogan is Showcasing the Talent and Vision of Artists! APMS is a showcase for creative people everywhere!
The Artist Spotlight will be called “Artist Showcase”
From this point on, we will also be accepting spotlight entries from Artpromotivate Showcase members.
This will bring more value to being featured here along with being an APMS member. We will ask you several unique questions, and feature several of your artworks from the APM Showcase within this article. Each artwork will link directly to your listing at your storefront so that interested collectors can instantly buy it from you! The article will be promoted to our huge list of social network followers and newsletter, and will stay on Artpromotivate.com forever!
As for those artists who have been featured here in the past and become APMS members, we will go back and add listed artworks to your spotlight feature, and promote it again!
Promotion of Artists
APMS members will be promoted to our huge online network of followers and subscribers. Here is our followers count as of Oct. 13, 2012:
- Artpromotivate.com subscribers - 916
Facebook page likes - 1546
- Twitter followers - 4780
- Google+ followers - 5779
- Linkedin connections – 305
- Pinterest – 244
- TOTAL – 13,570
Besides this, Artpromotivate posts are promoted at Stumbleupon, Tumblr, Myspace, Friendfeed, Delicious, Digg, Technorati, and more.
What if you already have a website or art blog, or sell your art at another site such as Etsy?
What is so great about APM Showcase is that it can be a great addition to what you are already doing online. It provides an easy way for collectors to buy your artworks. All you have to do is link to your storefront from your existing website or art-blog.
As for Etsy and Ebay users, the store will provide another avenue for the selling of your art. You can even include listings from your existing Etsy store within your own store at APM Showcase!
Transaction Fees
The transaction fee for all artworks purchased through the Artpromotivate Showcase is 7.25%. Meylah also has their own transaction fee of 2.25%, for a total of 10%. This is far lower than many other online galleries on the web – some charging as much as 50%. This will give us the leverage to do several paid large advertising campaigns that will bring thousands of visitors to the APMS storefront.
Instructions for Current Meylah Users
The APM Showcase is proudly hosted by Meylah. If you are already a Meylah member, after applying and being accepted for APMS, you can easily add your listings to our marketplace by visiting your Meylah store dashboard - then click Edit near your listing. Right at the bottom where it mentions Marketplaces, check the box near Artpromotivate Showcase. Select the proper category, then click Save. Repeat the process for other artworks.

I have tried several times over the past few days to create an account on your new site but it will not let me get past the second page where my info was entered, when i hit the next button, nothing happens. Is this a known issue? I set my computer to allow pop ups and cookies, so that is not the issue.

ReplyDeleteI haven't heard of this happening before... maybe you can try a different web browser? Also, clear your cache and cookies, and try again.
If you continue to have problems, please let me know.
Congratulations Graham. I hope that your website is based in Canada, will advertise to Canadian Collectors and will make it easier for Canadian Artists to showcase in their own country without the shipping difficulties. We are unique so lets celebrate it!

ReplyDeleteThanks Sea Dean! Well, in a way its based in Canada, because I'm Canadian - Newfie :)... and I have a fairly large following of Canadians whom I share my posts with... but I am accepting artists all over the world.
